Britain has been regulated by political gun control since  1920, consequently, as the Battle of Britain neared, the citizens were not armed to “fight them on the rooftops.." per Churchill.

The appeal shown on the bottom of this page appeared in many United States newspapers and magazines and was answered by many individual firearms owners.

 CIVILIAN COMMITTEE FOR PROTECTION OF HOMES

The members of which are Wickham Steed, Edward Hulton, and Lord Davies.
